About Us

Mental Health America of Charlottesville-Albemarle (MHA C-A) is the area’s oldest organization dedicated to all aspects of mental health and behavioral health disorders. We have served the Thomas Jefferson area since 1946. Our mission is to ensure better mental health for everyone in our community. Our vision is of a community that protects and promotes good mental health for everybody, daily and in times of crisis. Our job is to work on behalf of all people living with mental illness by advocating, educating, shaping public policy, and promoting mental health.

MHA C-A Programs

If you have any questions regarding these programs, please contact us at 434.977.4673 or email mha@avenue.org.

MHA C-A is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and an affiliate of National Mental Health America. We
are funded through individual gifts, corporate donations, grants, special events and legacy gifts. We
need your help and support to get two messages across: 1) there is no physical health without mental health, and 2) we can work together to fight stigma and prejudice, promote social justice, and support recovery from mental illness and substance abuse.
